Weekly Spotlight #001: TIMEDANCE

In keeping with Signal One’s search for contemporary EDM music that seeks to do away with petty categorizations, here is our first weekly music-tip for you guys:

A still rather new form of UK techno is being pushed by a small Bristol-based scene revolving around the label TIMEDANCE. Founded by producer Batu, it gathers various producers who come out of the techno- or dubstep-field, yet approach these genres with an experimental mindframe and explore the no-man’s-land between Techno, Hip-Hop, EBM, Dubstep and what-not.. creating a unique brand of underground music that is deep, broken and often quite twisted!

If you’re interested in fresh and inspirational perspectives on techno – and want to get a bit freaky – check out the TIMEDANCE EP’s of Lurka, Ploy, Batu etc., but also related labels like Livity Sounds or Wisdom Teeth and producers like Facta, Hodge, Bruce, Asusu!
